2 days, no verdict in Michigan Gov. Whitmer kidnap plot case
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) — After two days, a jury in Michigan has no verdict yet in the trial of four men charged with conspiring to kidnap Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.
Jurors were behind closed doors all day Tuesday after U.S. District Judge Robert Jonker turned down their request for trial transcripts. He said transcripts weren’t available, and they typically aren’t provided for deliberations.
The jury will return Wednesday to the federal court in Grands Rapids, Michigan.
Adam Fox, Barry Croft Jr., Daniel Harris and Brandon Caserta are charged with a kidnapping conspiracy. Three of them also face additional charges, including conspiracy to use a weapon of mass destruction, namely an explosive.
