COVID-19: B.C. hospitalizations jump over the weekend

VICTORIA — The province is reporting a significant jump in COVID-19 hospitalization over the weekend.

According to the latest surveillance report issued by the B.C. Ministry of Health Monday afternoon (Apr. 4), there are 321 patients in hospital with the virus, an increase of 47 from Friday. There are now 36 people in intensive care with COVID-19, up by one.

The report notes 728 people reported positive COVID-19 tests over the past three days, including 168 in Interior Health.

No update on the number of deaths due to COVID-19 was provided.
