KAMLOOPS — School District 73 is reminding families and students of mask requirements in schools as students return from spring break.

Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry announced changes to school safety measures on March 10. Those changes went into effect on March 21, the first day of SD73’s spring break. Monday (April 4) will be the first day of school that the new guidance will be in place.

The B.C. Health Ministry currently requires adults and children aged 5 and older who travelled internationally to wear a well-constructed and well-fitting mask in indoor and outdoor public spaces, including K–12 schools, for the first 14 days after entry.

For those who did not travel internationally, “[w]earing a mask or face covering is a personal choice.”
