Ord Road airport access blocked

KAMLOOPS — If you’re heading to the Kamloops Airport this morning, plan ahead: one major route to the airport is currently closed.

Kamloops RCMP say in a press release Saturday (April 2) morning that due to a mechanical issue with a train, Tranquille Road just north of Airport Road and south of Ord Road will be closed temporarily.

Ord Road is unaffected but access to the airport via Ord Road is currently not possible. The only access to the airport currently is via Tranquille Road.

RCMP say another update will be provided once the road is clear.
