VALEMOUNT, B.C. — Two men from Alberta were pulled over for speeding near Valemount Monday (March 28), but a vehicle search led to their arrests.

BC Highway Patrol say the two men exhibited behaviour that led officers to believe they were in possession of drugs. The vehicle was searched after a drug-sniffing dog checked it and investigators found $150,000 cash, six cell phones and receipts indicating “suspicious banking activity”.

The two men, who BC Highway Patrol say are well-known to police in Western Canada, were later released on conditions and given a future court date. Arrangements were made to return the vehicle to the rental company.
