KAMLOOPS — Yet another venerable Kamloops summer event will return in 2022.

The City of Kamloops says the annual Canada Day festivities will return this year at Riverside Park.

The family-oriented event regularly attracts thousands of residents and visitors to the park, though pandemic restrictions have led to its cancellation for the past two years.

Attractions include a pancake breakfast, arts and cultural displays, and musical performances including the kickoff to Music in the Park.

“We are so excited to be working with the Kamloops Arts Council and Kamloops Multicultural Society to bring our community together again,” said City of Kamloops Community Events Coordinator Dewi Evans in a news release. “We also recognize that Canada Day is forever changed with the confirmation of Le Estcwicwe´y (The Missing), and we will work with Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc to ensure Canada’s true history is incorporated.”

Community groups who wish to participate in Canada Day festivities are asked to apply at this link before May 2.
