Man not allowed within 40 kilometres of 100 Mile House after reported mischief
100 MILE HOUSE, B.C. — A man was arrested and released on conditions, including not being allowed within 40 kilometres of 100 Mile House.
RCMP say they attended a store on the 100-block of Highway 97 in 100 Mile House Saturday (March 26) afternoon after a man reportedly broke a sign in front of the business and threw pieces of it at the window. Police say the man was reportedly told to leave the store three times earlier that day.
A second call was received minutes later from another business in the same area, where the same man had been throwing rocks around in the business foray. Officers arrested the man, who RCMP say is well known to local police, and lodged him in cells. A police search found located stolen items from another downtown location earlier that same day.
While being transported to cells, RCMP say the man became violent and kicked at the windows and broke the device that separates the front and rear seat in a patrol vehicle. Police say the man spat an investigator’s face when in cells.
