Kamloopa Powwow scheduled to return in July

KAMLOOPS — An iconic community event for Kamloops and Tk’emlups te Secwepemc (TteS) will return in 2022.

In a Facebook post Saturday (March 26) evening, the Kamloopa Powwow Society states the annual event will return between July 29 and 31, subject to TteS recreational and facility requirements in line with B.C.’s provincial health orders.

“We thank everyone for your understanding that TteS is in mourning and for your continued prayers during our time of healing the Le Estcwicwéý (the missing) 215 children,” Kamloopa Powwow Society states. “Please be understanding that we will be protecting the perimeter of our children, and as a result it may impact some parking and camping areas.”
