Blazers shut out, continue winning streak against Rockets

KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Blazers defeated their rival Kelowna Rockets 6-0 Friday (March 25) in the Western Hockey League 2021-22 season.

Logan Stankoven opened the scoring with a shot from his knees that earned him the WHL Highlight of the Night.

Daylan Keufler got another on the powerplay six minutes into the first.

Logan Bairos scored his third goal of the season with a long range goal with a minute and a half left in the first.

With the Blazers up 3-0, the second period was mostly quiet until Kaden Hammell scored with about three minutes left, assisted by Stankoven and Reese Belton.

Then a minute later Kuefler made it 5-0, assisted by Bairos and Belton.

The Blazers put the final nail in the coffin in the third period with a Stankoven goal at 16:32, bringing the final score to 6-0.

The Blazers stand at 44-14-2-0 and are good for 90 points in 60 games. Next up, they travel to Kelowna Saturday (March 26) for the final game of six straight head-to-head battles.
