Kamloops Christian School joins province’s $10-a-day child care program
KAMLOOPS — Another site in Kamloops will be part of the B.C. government’s $10-a-day ChildCareBC program.
The Kamloops Christian School Early Learning Centre will have 92 spaces (11 under 36 months, 21 three years old to five, 32 preschool, 20 school age, eight multi-age). It’s Kamloops’ second $10-a-day site after the Kamloops Child Development Centre and its 121 spaces (36 under 36 months, 52 three years old to five, and 33 school-age) was chosen in 2018.
In a news release issued Thursday (March 24) morning, the province states families at $10-a-day sites won’t pay more than $200 per month per child for full-time enrolment during regular business hours.
“Kamloops Christian School Association (KCSA) is excited to be chosen to be part of the $10-a-day ChildCareBC initiative. As is well known by most residents of B.C., affordable child care is vital to moving our economy forward and this is especially true as we transition out of a pandemic situation. We feel this is an important move that helps us fulfil part of our mission and mandate at KCSA to serve our local Kamloops community,” Sandro Cuzzetto, KCSA CEO says.
