COVID-19 outbreak at Ponderosa Lodge declared over

KAMLOOPS — A COVID-19 outbreak at Ponderosa Lodge in Kamloops has been declared over 47 days after it began.

Interior Health has only one COVID-19 outbreak on its facility outbreak list as of Tuesday (Mar. 22) morning, at Hillside Village in Salmon Arm.

The Ponderosa outbreak was first declared on Feb.3, on the facility’s third floor. Before it was declared over, 46 people were infected with the virus and one death was attributed to the outbreak.

Aside from Ponderosa, there were seven active COVID-19 outbreaks in B.C. as of Monday afternoon.
