KAMLOOPS — The Thompson Rivers University WolfPack women’s basketball team has a new head coach.

Todd Warnick has over two decades of experience as a head coach at the collegiate level in BC and Alberta. For the past 12 seasons, he’s been the head coach of the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) Ooks women’s basketball program.

At NAIT, Warnick has led his team to one Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference Championships, as well a silver and two bronzes. In the 2015-16 season, the Ooks finished third at the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association National Championships.

Warnick also won an ACAC Championship as the head coach of the Concordia University of Edmonton Thunder in the 2007-08 season. The season prior to that he was named ACAC Coach of the Year.

Warnick is set to start his new role with the WolfPack once he wraps up his season with the Ooks. NAIT is heading to the CCAA National Championships after they finished second in this year’s ACAC playoffs. That tournament will take place from March 25-27 in Nanaimo.
