Rifles and ‘thousands of rounds of ammunition’ seized in overweight vehicle: BC Highway Patrol
KAMLOOPS — A man in his 60s from the Lower Mainland faces numerous firearm charges after B.C. Highway Patrol Kamloops officers seized six rifles and thousands of rounds of ammunition.
Officers were working in the Cache Creek area on Saturday (March 5) where Highway Patrol say a truck and camper towing a trailer was stopped as it didn’t appear to be safe.
After informing the driver of the reason for the stop, Highway Patrol weighed the camper, trailer and truck combination and found it grossly overweight. The man was arrested and the officers began the firearms investigation.
The camper, trailer and truck combination was seized, and the driver was issued numerous violation tickets and an inspection notice for the trailer. His matter is before the courts.
