Mar 5, 2022 | 10:00 AM

KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Blazers stole a win in Langley Friday (March 4).

Trailing the Vancouver Giants 2-0 early in the third, Connor Levis rifled the puck in from the right circle to cut the deficit to 2-1. Although the Giants would answer back with a goal one minute later.

With a late power play, the Blazers put pressure on the Giants and got within a goal again. Quinn Schmiemann’s shot from the point on the power play deflected in the air and went over Giants goaltender Will Gurski. Daylan Kuefler scored the tying goal with the goalie pulled.

Kuefler would score again, playing overtime hero, scoring on the backhand after going coast to coast to give the Blazers a 4-3 win.

The Blazers improve to 38-14-2 on the 2021-22 Western Hockey League season, good for 78 points in 54 games. They’re first in the B.C. Division and second in the Western Conference, having already clinched a playoff spot.

Next up is a Saturday (March 5) night home game against the Victoria Royals at 7 p.m. from Sandman Centre.
