RCMP surround Kamloops Transit bus on Overlanders Bridge after gun sighting
KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP officers are following up a complaint of a gun spotted on a city bus.
In a news release, RCMP say they were called Wednesday (Mar. 2) at 5:15 p.m. to a specific city bus after the report of a suspect passenger who was cocking a handgun and pointing it around.
Inspector Jeff Pelley said a large police response caught up to the bus on the Overlanders Bridge.
“Due to the elevated risk involved and the potential threat to public safety, multiple police officers responded, quickly located and then stopped the bus travelling northbound on the Overlander (sic) Bridge,” said Pelley. “Officers were able to confirm no one on the bus was injured, nor was the suspect described present.”
