KAMLOOPS — A traffic stop led to a significant drug seizure for Kamloops RCMP last Friday.

In a news release, detachment spokesperson Cst. Crystal Evelyn says an officer was patrolling on the North Shore at about 11:00 p.m. Friday night when he noticed a vehicle with inactive insurance on 12th Street.

Following the vehicle onto Fortune Drive, the officer pulled it over when it turned into a ‘Do Not Enter’ lane into an apartment complex. While speaking to the two occupants, Evelyn says the Mountie noticed “items indicative with drug trafficking” and placed both occupants under arrest.

Subsequent investigation yielded 53 grams of suspected crack, eight grams of cocaine and three grams of fentanyl, as well as cash and other paraphernalia.
