KSO Director Dina Gilbert diagnosed with cancer, steps back for remainder of season
KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Symphony Orchestra (KSO) is reeling with the announcement that Music Director Dina Gilbert has been diagnosed with cancer.
In an update posted to the organization’s website, KSO says Gilbert is “in good spirits and is being well looked after,” but will not conduct the remainder of the 2021-22 season’s concerts as she undergoes treatment. The KSO has signed up guest conductors in her place.
Gilbert was hired to succeed the retiring Bruce Dunn in 2017.
