‘Single and Ready to Jingle’: Holiday-themed RomCom in production around Kamloops

KAMLOOPS — Lights. Camera. Christmas? It’s looking pretty festive around the BC Wildlife Park these days. That’s because the park is being used as one of the main locations for a movie produced by CJay Boisclair and Jeremy Kulyk that’s being shot there.

“They’ll be filming four days at the park and there are other locations around Kamloops,” Wildlife Park Executive Director Glenn Grant explains.

Yes, you read the call sheet correctly. The film’s title is ‘Single and Ready to Jingle.’ The Wildlife Park is doing some heavy lifting on the locations side of things.

“We’re doubling up as the St. John airport, the entrance and the lobby, the St. John Community Centre, they’ll be doing some snowshoeing out in the park setting, our caboose will double up as a hot chocolate stand,” Grant explains. “This is absolutely wonderful for the park. It’s great to be involved.”

The operations of the BC Wildlife won’t be interrupted in any way because the park is closed during the week throughout the winter.

“Most of the other locations are here inside the visitors centre,” Grant explains. “We also used our shop as a location. People will have to wait and when the movie comes out, they’ll be able to see how well the moving parts come together, and it’s just wonderful to be involved in it.”

One of the other locations featured in the film will be the heart of downtown Kamloops. The production plans to shut down a section of Victoria Street on March 10th as one of their final locations, so expect a distinctively festive feel downtown.

“We’re now going to be known as St. John, Alaska!” Grant says.

All part of the magic of making movies.
