River City Nissan achieves national recognition

If you’re ever in the market for a vehicle or automotive service, it can be a daunting task to choose someone to trust, considering the multitude that exist in the Kamloops community. However, not all are award-winning.

The Kamloops-based River City Nissan dealership has received the national honour of the Nissan Award of Excellence for outstanding customer service and sales. A top-tier recognition, the Nissan Award of Excellence is the auto manufacturer’s way of recognizing a dealership that exceeds the highest standards of customer service quality and satisfied buyers, not only in Canada, but all North America.

River City is no stranger to recognition this year. The shop-level award came not long after Craig Gallant was honoured with the Nissan Award of Excellence for his performance as Sales Manager at the Kamloops dealership.

So, how did this come to be? Did they just sell the most cars?

No.

The selection process for this award is based on the experiences of those who walk through the dealership’s doors. Everything from prompt and thorough technicians, the care of the sales staff, to the comfort and openness of the lounge (which has a manner of digital interfaces customers can play with while keeping an eye on their vehicle in the service bay), summed up in customer surveys and consultation. Simply, the team at River City Nissan was recognized for providing the best quality of service and customer satisfaction.

Some in the service department, like Kyle Trozzo, have been at the dealership for so many years, that they’re as much family as they are technicians. Trust in a relationship like that can only be built with consistent staff with many years of interaction, that cares for you and your vehicle.

You can feel the spirit and dedication of the River City team in a recent prominent customer interaction:

Broken down on the highway, towing a camper, the situation seemed hopeless. At quarter to 6 – closing time – the hopeful travelers called River City Nissan to ask for help. Not long after, their camper and truck were being towed to the dealership parking lot and set up with a temporary campsite there to stay the night. A Nissan technician brought a hose from home to hook them into the dealership plumbing, so the travelers could have running water. In the morning, they enjoyed fresh coffee in the lounge while repairs began on their truck.

That is Above & Beyond service.

However, that wouldn’t count for much if the vehicles they were selling weren’t worth that quality of service. Fortunately, this has never been a problem for the brand. Nissan was one of the most awarded brands of 2021 in the prestigious J.D. Power ratings, with the Nissan Altima and Murano winning highest quality mid-size sedan and SUV, respectively, while the Nissan Maxima took the quality prize for full-size sedan. These and more can be found in their extensive on-site inventory, with the ability to order any models from the full Nissan lineup available in Canada.

As a brand, Nissan’s dedication to a clean future is exceptionally strong, having built an affordable fully-electric vehicle in the Nissan Leaf as early as 2010. Now, with the industry pushing further to make the electric future a reality, the current generation Nissan Leaf continues to be one of the most affordable EV’s available to Canadians. Having River City Nissan in Kamloops means that an environmentally-conscious driver doesn’t need to go out of town to service this advanced machine.

As part of the celebration of River City’s receipt of the Nissan Award of Excellence, CFJC Today will be featuring them on multiple platforms, as the hard work that goes into such an achievement deserves recognition.
