COVID-19 outbreak declared at Gillis House in Merritt and Fischer Place in 100 Mile House

MERRITT, B.C. — A COVID-19 outbreak was declared at Gillis House in Merritt on Friday (Feb. 18).

Interior Health states in its health facility disease outbreaks page that the long-term care unit is affected in the complex care facility.

Additionally, in the Cariboo, a COVID-19 outbreak was declared at Fischer Place in 100 Mile House on Friday. The long-term care unit is affected

There are 12 facilities in Interior Health dealing with COVID-19 outbreaks as of Wednesday (Feb. 23) afternoon, including Overlander Residential Care and Ponderosa Lodge in Kamloops, Hillside Village in Salmon Arm, and Williams Lake Seniors Village.
