SALMON ARM – RCMP say B.C.’s police watchdog is investigating police actions after a woman was injured while being arrested in Salmon Arm earlier this month.
A statement from the Mounties says officers were called to a home after a report that an intoxicated woman had assaulted others and refused to leave.
They say she allegedly assaulted an officer and resisted attempts to handcuff her, sustaining an injury for which she was treated in hospital and later released.
The Mounties say the Independent Investigations Office is examining the role police may have played in relation to the woman’s injury.
