B.C. hospitalization from COVID-19 down to 733 ahead of Family Day long weekend

VICTORIA — B.C.’s Ministry of Health is reporting another decrease in hospitalization due to COVID-19 as the province heads into Family Day weekend.

In its latest update issued Friday afternoon (Feb. 18), the ministry reports 733 patients in hospital with COVID-19, a decrease of 11 from Thursday. There are 113 people in intensive care, seven fewer than Thursday.

Five more people have died of COVID-19, pushing the B.C. death toll to 2,786.

The province has registered 692 new positive cases of the virus, including a B.C.-leading 217 in Interior Health.
