Pine Grove, Mount Ida Mews COVID-19 outbreaks end; new outbreak at Hillside Village in Salmon Arm

KAMLOOPS — A pair of COVID-19 outbreaks at local healthcare facilities have been declared over.

Interior Health confirms the outbreak at Pine Grove Care Centre in Kamloops has come to an end with 47 cases — 32 among residents and 15 among staff. One person died as part of the outbreak, which was initially declared on Jan. 19.

The COVID-19 outbreak at Mount Ida Mews in Salmon Arm has also been declared over. The facility was initially added to the outbreak list on Jan. 18. It ended up with 36 resident cases and five among staff for a total of 41.

A new outbreak was declared Tuesday (Feb. 15) at Hillside Village in Salmon Arm.

Two outbreaks remain ongoing in Kamloops. There are 22 resident cases at Ponderosa Lodge and 27 resident cases and three staff cases at Overlander Residential Care.
