KAMLOOPS – One person was treated for smoke inhalation following a fire at a home in downtown Kamloops last night.
Kamloops Fire Rescue was called out to the home in the 600 block of Seymour Street around 9:30 P.M. Crews were able to bring the fire under control quickly, but not before the fire moved from the kitchen into the attic.
The fire was contained to the kitchen area although the attic area was opened up to snuff out the blaze. The exact cause of the fire hasn’t been determined. While a damage estimate isn’t available, the kitchen suffered extensive damage in the fire.
A section of Seymour Street was closed for a short time to allow firefighters to do their work safely.
