KAMLOOPS – Kamloops Fire Rescue is expected to release more information regarding a fire at Memorial Arena over the weekend.
The blaze was spotted early Sunday morning. The response by emergency officials woke some residents with loud sirens.
The arena has been used as a homeless shelter since May of 2020.
But last week, BC Housing announced plans to return the facility back to the City of Kamloops with the opening of the Merit House shelter on Notre Dame Drive.
