QUESNEL, B.C. — RCMP have arrested a 25-year-old man following a stabbing in Quesnel.

Police say it happened late Wednesday evening on the 100 block of Carson Avenue.

The suspect, of no fixed address, made his first court appearance yesterday and is facing charges of assault causing bodily harm.

RCMP say the victim suffered non-life threatening injuries.

There have been four stabbings and one murder since the beginning of December in Quesnel though police say all suspects have been identified and charged.

“Swift arrests were made possible with the steady stream of tips and information from the public,” said Cpl. Alyssa MacNeil, of the Quesnel RCMP General Investigation Section.

“Local businesses provided hours, if not days, of video surveillance footage for these investigations. Obtaining the video was time consuming for their business staff, but they stepped up to the plate and had a huge hand to play in charging these suspects. We want to express our gratitude to everyone who assisted.”
