Wednesday morning crash west of Williams Lake claims woman’s life

WILLIAMS LAKE, B.C. — Williams Lake RCMP are investigating a fatal crash west of the city.

In a news release, Staff Sgt. Del Byron said the collision happened on Dog Creek Road at about 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday (Feb. 9).

Initial responders found a Chevy Sprint had collided head-on with a dump truck.

The driver of the dump truck was not injured, but the driver of the small car had to be extricated and rushed to hospital. Byron says she did not survive.

Investigators are trying to determine what caused the crash, but note road conditions were reported to be icy and that may have been a factor.
