VICTORIA — The province is adding a series of new parcels of land to the B.C. Parks system, and that includes bolstering a couple of parks not far from Kamloops.
In a news release, Environment Minister George Heyman says Blue River Black Spruce Provincial Park will add 59 hectares to protect a wetland and safeguard the ecological integrity of the North Thompson River.
Heyman adds Edge Hills Provincial Park west of Clinton will add 50 hectares in order to enhance wildlife connectivity and further protect the Fraser River bluffs.
“People’s desire to interact with nature has never been greater. Parks provide the opportunity to connect with nature and strengthen our physical and mental well-being,” said Heyman.
