Highway 1 closes west of Revelstoke due to vehicle incident in Three Valley Gap

UPDATE (3 p.m.): DriveBC says Highway 1 west of Revelstoke is open, but drivers should expect heavy delays in the Three Valley Gap area.

EARLIER: REVELSTOKE, B.C. — The Trans Canada Highway is closed in both directions west of Revelstoke due to a vehicle incident in the Three Valley Gap area Monday (Feb. 7) afternoon.

DriveBC reports that the incident took place between Griffin Lake Avalanche Gate and Three Valley Avalanche Gate – 18 to 24 kilometres west of Revelstoke. An assessment is in progress and a detour is not available.

The next update is scheduled for 3 p.m. Monday.
