Murder charge laid after Vernon woman stabbed to death in England

VERNON, B.C. — A man has been charged with murder following the death of a young Vernon woman in a suburb of London, England.

Ashley Wadsworth, 19, died from a reported stabbing in Chelmsford on Tuesday after reports of a disturbance at a home.

A 23-year-old man, said to be her boyfriend, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder.

“Jack Sepple, 23, of Tennyson Road, Chelmsford, has now been charged with murder,” a news release from Essex Police stated.

Reports say the two met online, and that Ashley was planning to fly back home to Vernon this week.

Numerous tributes and condolences have been posted on Ashley’s Facebook page.

“I am at lost of words. My heart aches to hear this tragic news the last time we talked we were planning to hangout right? Ashley was one of my best friends that I’ve met here in Canada. We lost a beautiful soul.Rest in peace Beautiful. You’ll be missed,” said Kaillah Dizon.

Ashley’s step mother, Charmaine Wadsworth, spoke to CBC News.

“We’re just remembering how strong and smart and witty Ashley was, and how kind she was. And how she was always ten steps ahead of all of us. She will be really missed by each and every one of us,” said Wadsworth.
