Man arrested, box cutter seized after Victoria Street scrap Monday
KAMLOOPS — RCMP did not receive much cooperation from the participants in a downtown brouhaha Monday night (Jan. 31).
According to a news release from Cst. Crystal Evelyn, it happened at about 8:10 p.m. in the 200-block of Victoria Street. Officers were called to a fight involving two to three people, with the caller reporting knives and blood visible.
Shortly after they rolled up, officers told a suspect he was under arrest, but he was uncooperative and tried to flee.
Evelyn says the officers deployed pepper spray and a conductive energy device (taser), but still couldn’t bring the man under control. Eventually, they were able to corral him, seizing a box cutter in the process.
