SOUND OFF: No freedoms were affected by the convoy

Jan 30, 2022 | 9:21 AM

SO WHAT HAS BEEN accomplished by the Freedom Convoy’s Saturday (Jan. 29)?

Was it anything more than a big waste of fuel?

Or a bunch of people wanting “freedom” to spread sickness through ignorance?

Anything more than proving that mob mentality is becoming more and more the order of the day?

That perhaps legitimate dialogue is so hard to attain that people who want to engage are shouted down by the lemmings following a pied piper?

If you really want to see what destruction of freedom is like, read or watch some of the discussions during Black History Month. Read the report of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission to see how our Indigenous people have been treated.

Rules are put in place for a reason. Sometimes the rules have to be revised and changes have to be made as times change.

In this case, the rules are necessary to fight an illness greater than anything we’ve ever seen.

Sometimes we have to accept compromises for the greater good.

This is one of those times.

The convoy accomplished nothing, other than to point out the growing gap between legitimate discussion and irrational behaviour.
