Couple arrested near McLeese Lake with stolen truck, weapons, drugs
McLEESE LAKE, B.C. — A man and a woman are were arrested near McLeese Lake Friday morning (Jan. 28) after an alleged crime spree.
At about 9:00 a.m., the pair was reported to have started a fire near an area just outside of the community. A stolen truck was parked nearby. The caller reported that the two had tried to steal items from the general store in the community earlier that morning.
When an officer arrived the man took off on foot while the woman tried to start the truck. The officer arrested the woman and radioed to other officers about the man’s description. He was arrested a short time later, allegedly in possession of a machete.
Police also seized stolen license plates, as well as small amounts of suspected cannabis and methamphetamine.
