Stolen vehicle recovered, woman arrested at Cityview Shopping Centre Wednesday

KAMLOOPS — RCMP say a large police presence at the Cityview Shopping Centre on Highway 5A Wednesday night (Jan. 26) was prompted by the discovery of a stolen vehicle.

Cst. Crystal Evelyn of Kamloops RCMP says officers converged on the shopping area at about 8:00 p.m. Wednesday after receiving a report that a woman was slumped over in the driver’s seat of a vehicle.

The license plate of the vehicle belonged to one of three reported stolen when keys were left in the ignition earlier this week. The Honda Civic was taken from outside a building in the 1000-block of Hillside Drive on Tuesday (Jan. 25).

When RCMP arrived, the woman was arrested. No one else was in the vehicle.
