CHRIS EVANS AND DWAYNE JOHNSON TO STAR IN RED ONE: People reports that Chris Evans and Dwayne Johnson will both star in Amazon Studios’ Red One, “an action-adventure comedy that imagines a new universe within the holiday genre.” Jake Kasdan, director of Jumanji, is set to direct the film.
IDRIS ELBA COULD BE THE NEXT 007: Producers of the James Bond franchise say that Idris Alba is “part of the conversation,” as they move towards deciding who will be the next Bond. “Well, we know Idris, I’m friends with him and he’s a magnificent actor,” Barbara Broccoli, one of the producers, said on Deadline’s Crew Call podcast. However, she added that they haven’t fully begun the process yet.
AMY SCHNEIDER TAKES SECOND PLACE FOR JEOPARDY! ALL-TIME WINS: On Monday’s (January 24th) episode of Jeopardy!, Amy Schneider achieved the second-most consecutive wins of all time with her 39th win. Today reports that Schneider has a way to go to beat out Ken Jennings, who holds the number one spot at 74 consecutive wins. After being recognized by the GLAAD Media Awards recently, Schneider tweeted, “Of all the things that have come out of my Jeopardy run, I will always be most proud of any good that I’ve managed to do for the trans community, so this acknowledgement means more than I can ever say.”
FREDRIK EKLUND EXITS MILLION DOLLAR LISTING AFTER 11 YEARS: Page Six reports that, after 11 years on the show, Frederik Eklund will be leaving Million Dollar Listing. Eklund posted to Instagram Monday (January 24th), “After an amazing 11 years, I’ve decided it’s time for the next chapter of my life, and to leave Million Dollar Listing. It’s an end of an era and a new start for me.”
