Garand named WHL Goaltender of the Week

KAMLOOPS — Dylan Garand has been named the Western Hockey League’s Goaltender of the Week.

Garand helped the Blazers to two wins this weekend against Prince George, accumulating a 1.50 goals-against average and .947 saves percentage.

The New York Rangers prospect had 31 saves in a 5-1 win in Prince George on Friday night, before stopping 23 at home on Saturday in a 3-2 victory over the Cougars.

Garand leads the league in goals-against average at 2.04.
