Blazers’ deadline acquisitions make a good first impression in 5-1 win over Cougars
KAMLOOPS — Friday night (Jan. 21) in Prince George against the Cougars was the first game the Kamloops Blazers played following the Western Hockey League (WHL) Trade Deadline on Monday (Jan. 17).
One game in, and the new pair of Blazers – forwards Luke Toporowski and Drew Englost – have made a great first impression, playing key roles in the Kamloops’ 5-1 win over the Cougars.
Toporowski opened the scoring with his first as a Blazer, finishing off a rush chance by going to his backhand. He would add another goal – finishing a pass from Logan Stankoven in front of the net – and an assist.
Englot must wait another day for his first as a Blazer, but he still had a good night on the scoresheet with two assists.
