KAMLOOPS – The eastbound lane of the Trans-Canada highway in eastern Kamloops was closed for much of the morning by a collision that spread debris across the two lanes.

Kamloops RCMP received a report of the crash shortly before 4 A.M. along the highway at the Kokanee Way on-ramp.

When police arrived, they found a collision involving a semi-truck carrying crushed cars.

A witness told CFJC Today that several pieces of the truck’s load were scattered across the highway in the crash.

Kamloops RCMP say one person was observed walking away from the scene. At this time they believe that no other vehicles were involved in the crash and the truck driver was the only occupant.

This person was located later in the morning, unharmed, and police are now talking to him to investigate the cause of the crash.
