KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP say they discovered multiple weapons in a suspicious van early Tuesday (Jan. 18) morning while doing an unrelated curfew check on the North Shore.
At around 2:50 a.m., officers were on the 300-block of Tranquille Road when they noticed a suspicious brown van in the parking lot. The van had no license plates and the panel near the ignition was exposed.
The van’s doors were unlocked and as they opened the van to check the VIN number, they noticed a bag on the driver’s seat containing a gun. A search of the bag unveiled a rifle, double barrel shotgun, air pistol, ammunition, and throwing knife.
The van was not reported stolen, and its registered owner was identified. The items were taken into custody.
