Blazers acquire center Drew Englot, deal forward Tye Spencer to Regina on deadline day
KAMLOOPS — The Western Hockey League (WHL) Trade Deadline has arrived and the Kamloops Blazers remain active.
On Monday (Jan. 17) the Blazers announced they’ve acquired 2002-born center Drew Englot from the Regina Pats in exchange for 2004-born forward Tye Spencer.
Englot is in his third WHL season, all of them with the Pats. The 6’2” 198 lbs forward has 16 points (six goals and 10 assists) in 32 games in 2021-22, and 40 points (20 goals and 20 assists) in 110 career games.
Spencer was the Blazers’ third round pick in the 2019 WHL Prospects Draft. He’s scored 11 points (three goals and eight assists) in 32 games in 2021-22 and 13 points (five goals and eight assists) in 50 career games spread over three seasons.
