WolfPack basketball teams return from Trinity Western without a win

KAMLOOPS — It was a challenging weekend for both Thompson Rivers University (TRU) WolfPack basketball teams in Langley.

The men dropped their first game Friday (Jan. 14) against the Trinity Western Spartans 78-73, after holding an 11-point lead heading into the fourth quarter. Brad King had 18 points and nine rebounds for the WolfPack.

The following day (Jan. 15), it was close heading into the fourth quarter with the men only trailing by five points, but the Spartans once again went off in the final frame, outscoring the WolfPack 24-13 and winning 94-78. Brad King once again led the WolfPack with 23 points and 13 rebounds.

The women had one game against Trinity Western over the weekend, a 79-45 loss on Saturday. Elana Sireni led the WolfPack with 11 points.

The men fall to 4-6 on the Canada West season, fourth in the West Division, while the women fell 1-10, seventh in the West Division. Both squads are off until Friday (Jan. 21) when they play two games in Vancouver against the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds.
