Blazers shut out Chiefs 6-0
KAMLOOPS — One day after suffering one of their most heartbreaking losses of the season, a 5-4 loss in Tri-City after leading 4-0, the Kamloops Blazers did not let lightning strike twice.
After a scoreless first period, the Blazers scored three goals — a Nick McCarry rebound, a Dylan Sydor tip, and Daylan Kuefler finishing a behind-the-back pass from Logan Stankoven — in just over two minutes in the second period, en route to a 6-0 shutout of the Spokane Chiefs Saturday (Jan. 15) night.
The Blazers improved to 22-10-1, good for 45 points in 33 games and first in the Western Hockey League B.C. Division and second in the Western Conference. They’ll conclude the U.S. portion of their four-game road trip Sunday (Jan. 16) at 5 p.m. against the Portland Winterhawks.
