RCMP find realistic-looking guns at Kamloops motel
KAMLOOPS – Kamloops RCMP found realistic-looking decoy guns after responding to a call at a Columbia Street motel late last night (Jan. 12).
A man called police, saying there were people outside his hotel room with a shotgun and that he was holding them off with a bb-gun. He then said the people had moved behind the motel and were going to “shoot up” the motel.
A “heavy police presence” arrived at the motel but they were not able to find anyone who matched the caller’s description.
“Multiple officers attended and cleared the area, confirming the report to be unfounded,” said Cst. Crystal Evelyn from Kamloops RCMP.
