Selena Gomez Break from Social Media
Selena Gomez says that at one point in her depression, she had to walk away from social media because Instagram became her “whole world.” She said that taking a break from online was the best decision she ever made for her mental health.
In an interview with People.com Gomez said, “Sometimes I push myself too much, and it catches up to me. But I try to balance out everything as best as I can.”
Because of the pandemic, she thinks that there are lots of people who crave help but have no idea how to get it.
After suffering an emotional breakdown in 2018, she started dialectical behavior therapy, a form of talk therapy to manage her depression and anxiety. In the future, she plans to be an advocate and help implement more education about mental health.
