Kamloops and Cariboo see slight decrease in weekly COVID-19 cases; Revelstoke sees a spike

KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops local health area (LHA) saw a slight decrease in weekly COVID-19 cases but remains at an average daily rate of 10.1 to 15 per 100,000 population.

According to the latest data from the B.C. Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC), Kamloops saw 152 new COVID-19 cases between Dec. 19 and Dec. 25, down by six from the previous week. Many LHA’s in the Cariboo also saw decreases, while Merritt remained unchanged.

However, nearly every other LHA in the Interior surrounding Kamloops saw an increase, with the most notable increases in Central Okanagan, Revelstoke, and Salmon Arm.
