KAMLOOPS — Extreme Cold Warnings for the South Thompson, Nicola, and Shuswap regions have been rescinded by Environment Canada.
As of Wednesday (Dec. 29), Kamloops is still expected to see highs and lows in the minus teens, but AccuWeather forecasts minus single digits from Saturday through Monday.
Environment Canada only issues Extreme Cold Warnings when very cold temperatures or wind chill creates an elevated risk to health such as frost bite and hypothermia.
According to the national weather agency, extreme cold puts everyone at risk of severe frostbite or worse.
