B.C. Curling Championships

B.C. Women’s/Men’s Championships back on, with changes.

KAMLOOPS — After a brief pause, Curl BC is happy to announce that both the 2022 Scotties BC Women’s Curling Championship, presented by Best Western and the 2022 BC Men’s Curling Championship are on and will be taking place as scheduled, in Kamloops, from January 4th to 9th, 2022.

Due to the Omicron variant of COVID-19, however, a number of changes have been made to both the schedule and the venues.

First and foremost, the games will now take place in a closed rink, without spectators, and current ticket holders will be refunded. We understand this will be a great disappointment to many people, but the safety of our players, officials, ice technicians, and volunteers is the primary concern here at Curl BC.

As a result, game play will be moved from the McArthur Island Event Centre to the smaller Kamloops Curling Club, at 700 Victoria Street.

Curling fans needn’t worry about missing any of the action, however, as games can be viewed on youtube.com/CurlBCTV, with the semi-finals and finals streamed live on cbccports.ca.

Although the overall dates of the two championships will remain the same – January 4^th to 9^th, 2002 – we have had to adjust the times of our draws, playoffs, and championships. The new schedule can be viewed below.

As last year’s BC championships were cancelled due to COVID-19, it has been two years since BC curling champions have been crowned on the ice. With competitors like the Canadian Team Ranking system leaders Team Tardi and hometown heroes Team Corryn Brown, this year’s championships promise to be more exciting than ever.
