Body of missing Kelowna snowboarder found

KELOWNA – The body of an overdue Kelowna snowboarder has been located. RCMP say a recovery effort is now underway.

Search officials, with the assistance of Big White Ski Patrol members, were able to located the body and begin recovery efforts. Penticton and District Search and Rescue is assisting.

The next of kin has been notified, however the name of the individual has not been released.

Kelowna Regional RCMP are crediting volunteers from Central Okanagan Search and Rescue as well as individuals from Vernon and Penticton Search and Rescue, who assisted in the search.

RCMP were initially alerted yesterday (Dec. 26) at approximately 5:10 P.M., that a 42-year-old Kelowna man had gone missing while snowboarding at Big White.
