Kamloops wakes to cold Christmas Day
KAMLOOPS – Kamloops residents are experiencing bone chilling weather as an artic front dips into southern B.C.
Christmas morning began with wind gusts of more than 30 km/hr and temperatures near minus 15. Combined, Environment Canada calculated the wind chill value at minus 26.
The temperature is expected to dip lower over the course of the day as the cold front pushes further south. Wind gusts of up to 60 km/hr predicted, wind chill values could approach minus 30.
The average high for Kamloops is -1. Environment Canada has predicted temperatures to remain well below all week. AccuWeather’s long-range forecast team believes the frigid weather could linger through the end of the year.
