Kamloops region expecting wind chill increase this weekend
KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops region has light snow in the forecast over the next several days, and according to Environment Canada, the temperatures are also expected to drop below normal.
A large dump of snow isn’t in the forecast, but meteorologist Brian Proctor says the local area is expecting a few centimetres of snow between Friday (Dec. 24), Saturday (Dec. 25) and Sunday (Dec. 26).
“Boxing Day (Dec. 26) looks to be kind of a mixed sky sort of day. Winds continuing and a high of minus 15, but wind chills really starting to set up.”
Kamloops temperatures are going to dip well below average, but Proctor says they don’t expect the area to see record lows unless modelling changes and the system bringing arctic air moves further south.
